The Silence of the Lambs

The Silence of the Lambs - Thomas Harris I wasn't as thrilled as everyone else seems to be with this novel. I'm not so sure what bothered me so much; it might have been the dispassionate form of story telling (almost journal like). Maybe it was the fact that I couldn't care about the abducted girl (we didn't know enough about her) or that her mother was just a big bitch.

The politics was annoying but truly needed, the side stories seemed superfluous (but then I didn't read the first book in this trilogy).

Frankly I just didn't feel the fear - for me, this book just didn't 'age' well.
